Love This

Hey everyone. Here’s my take on this month’s Golden Globe stash challenge at Scrap Our Stash. Instead of the balloons on the movie poster I was inspired to use kites, which I fussy cut. I really enjoy how these challenges make me think outside the box. The cloud outlines were from a Just Nick cut file. The ephemera and pattern paper were from the Carousel collection from Maggie Holmes and Crate Paper.  For the background I used acrylic paint from Vicki Boutin and American Crafts. At first I applied some paint with a brush and then added water to make the drips. After that I used a piece of packaging to move the color around. Once that was dry I used a small piece of bubble wrap and a styrofoam cup as stamps. I also added splatters of each color and to finish things off added more splatters of gold color shine. I was also inspired by sketch #129 at Sketchabilities. Below are some close ups and the challenge. Make sure to check out the SOS blog for lots of inspiration. Thanks for stopping by!!

Hey everyone. Here’s my take on the March blend a sketch challenge at Scrap Our Stash. I used the two small photos, circle element and large uncentered frame from the left sketch and added it to the right sketch. For the second part of the challenge I layered 3 polaroid frames on the right side of the layout. I used Paige Evans ‘Turn the Page’ collection for this layout. This line contained paper with cups and mugs that I just had to fussy cut for this page of my addiction to a Tim’s drink. Aren't they cute!!

For the background I applied some of Vicki Boutin's acrylic paint using the packaging technique. Once that was dry I applied some of her gold glaze through a stencil.

Baby Blues

Hey everyone. Happy Easter!!! I have a layout today, based on the March sketch challenge at Scrap the Boys. I used Carta Bella's 'Toybox' collection for this page of my little grandson. He has the biggest blue eyes!!

The title was cut from a piece of pattern paper with alphabet blocks.

For the background I applied the blue with the packaging technique but tried something a little different with the green. I added some color to a stencil and used it as a stamp. If you look closely you can see some small green circles over the layout.

So Happy

Hey everyone. I’m back with this month’s Golden Globe Stash Challenge at Scrap Our Stash. I decided to create a happy themed layout of my grandson, who is always smiling and up for some fun. I had Simple Stories ‘Emoji Love’ Snap Pack in my Stash, which was perfect for the second part of the challenge. Below is the challenge and some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.

Hey everyone.  Here's a layout based on the first February 15th sketch at Stuck?!Sketches and the great outdoors February challenge at Scrap the Boys. The photo is of my daughter and grandson exploring around their farm and hanging with her horse, Hugo. Part of the challenge was to be inspired by the words explore, dream and discover, so I used explore for the title. I used another Jillibean Soup collection for this page, called 'Souper Celebration'.  Thanks for stopping by.

Hey everyone. Got a layout for you based on the second February 15th sketch at Stuck?!Sketches. I used the 'Bowl of Dreams' collection from Jillibean Soup for this layout. This was the first time I used a Jillibean's collection and I am really impressed with their collection packs. There's lots of embellishments included and the paper is so thick.  Love it!! Thanks for stopping by.

Little Boy Kisses

Hey everyone. Here's my entry in Cuts2Luv February challenge. The two elements I chose from the moodboard are photo:your love and technique:splatters. The photos are of my daughter and adorable grandson. My two greatest loves. For the splatters I used black ink spray and gold color shine. I used Pink Fresh Studio's 'Escape the Ordinary' collection for this page. I love the thickness of their paper and the embellishments are awesome!! This layout is also based on a sketch from Let's Get Sketchy. Thanks for stopping by.
